The Podcast Mission. The mission is to entertain, inform, and provide guidance to students and parents faced with big college and career decisions. There is a lot to navigate and the main idea is to equip listeners with great information, motivation, inspiration, and hope as they manage their journey into higher education and beyond.
Podcast Topics. Topics range from getting into college, being successful in college and setting up for success in life after college. One major principle of Hired Graduate is graduating with a job and no debt. It all starts with building an awesome college plan. This is great for students and parents. Jason is the father of two sons and well aware of charting their path into college from a parenting perspective. This will come through in the show.
College Admissions. College applications are at all-time highs with over 70 percent of high school students planning to attend college. College admissions offices review thousands of applications each year. The podcast will interview students, college administrators, and college admissions officers to share valuable insight and perspective. The result will be keys and tips to get accepted to college.
College Graduation. Graduation rates are much lower than they used to be. There are many students spending six years going to college, without graduating, and without being able to get a job. The podcast will feature topics about how to be effective at college so that you graduate on time with a solid plan for what comes next. The result will be keys and tips to having an awesome college experience and planning for life after college, addressing the “what’s next?” question.
What’s Next. College graduates have multiple options available to them. College graduates can continue their education or find a job to start working. Higher education options include going to graduate school to earn a Master’s degree or going to a professional school for those interested in a legal or medical field. The podcast will interview working professionals and subject matter experts to share their valuable insight and perspective. The result will be keys and tips to planning your career moves.
The Parents Role. Parents of college students face hurdles today like never before. The escalating costs of college, the numerous college options, the longer time it is taking to get through college, and the greatest rate of students returning back home after college than ever before all demonstrate the need to focus on having the best possible college plan. Having “the college talk” has become more difficult as moms and dads try to navigate their children into and through college.
