Hi, this is Ryan Hilliard offering you…
…just let me do it for you!
Cleaning Garbage Bins in South Charlotte
Each home in South Charlotte receives two bins to handle all the garbage and recycling needs of their busy households. This translates into thousands of bins that get dirty, smelly, and gross over time.
If you do not regularly clean your garbage or recycle bins then the smell and the germs are something that you may rather avoid.
This is one of the most dreaded chores of any household but it needs to be done. It needs to be done because you need your garbage bins to be clean and smell free.
I have started a service to take care of this problem for you.
We appreciate you supporting a local neighborhood student interested in making money and saving for college.

Who I am
Ryan Hilliard, an AB Honor Roll Student at Carmel Middle School, has been told he cannot work until he is older so he is taking a page out of Mike Rowe’s Dirty Jobs book to start his service and take things into his own hands – literally. Mike’s TV show Dirty Jobs had Mike performing difficult, strange, disgusting, or messy occupational duties. He has since started a show called Somebody’s Gotta Do It and served as inspiration.
Ryan did some thinking and thought this business idea was something he could handle, solves your stinky and dirty garbage bin problem, and earns some money for good use.
His brother Grant is doing the same thing, but is doing a dog poop removal service and if interested in that service can sign up for that service at his web site www.StudentScoopers.com.
My parents have been talking about how much college costs ($100,000 for in-state public university and 2-3 times that for private universities). Tired of playing video games and interested in making and saving some money, I would like the chance to provide this service to you. I have invested my own money earned through allowance, good grades and odd jobs to secure the equipment and supplies needed. I also am committed to choosing a children’s charity to contribute a part of the proceeds from this job and will communicate those details to you.
Ryan plays on a Charlotte Soccer Academy soccer team. I will fill up my schedule to capacity and must ensure that I can balance school, activities, and this work.
We will make your bins clean again! Using a pressure washer and a biodegradable antibacterial detergent and a multiple-step process to wash, rinse, and deodorize your bins. If you are like many people who don’t like to think about it, hate doing it, or just choose to avoid this disgusting task then let Student Can Cleaners do it for you. When complete I will send an email confirmation with your clean garbage bin picture. The below pictures are from one of my jobs.
It will be great to meet you and I look forward to helping you or anyone you know in closely connected South Charlotte communities around the Colony Place Shopping Center. I do not have my driver’s license yet but will be committed to getting to your home to take care of this weekly business and appreciate your flexibility in setting up this routine. I will service neighborhoods in or connected directly to the following communities:
- Olde Providence
- Wessex Square
Things to Know
My pressure washer requires both a water and power source (normal outlet to plug into). I have a hose and a proper extension cord. The pressure washer has proper safety features and a grounder/breaker. The supplies I use are a result of research on how to clean garbage bins. The cleaning products are eco-friendly. Research shows that the garbage bins should be cleaned in the grass as the yard is a natural and effective means to drain the water from the bin. I will use as little water as necessary to complete the job, with the number one goal to get super clean garbage bins. For bio-degradeable products to degrade properly they need to be disposed of in the soil not our waterways, and combined with sunlight and heat the leftover water will be treated properly. The leftover water will be disposed of away from the street drains.
I will make it a goal to follow your instructions, can bring the garbage bin back from the street (if you prefer) if we clean on garbage pickup day, and may even put a sign out in the front yard indicating that a garbage bin cleaning service is in progress in your yard for neighbor awareness.
Satisfaction is guaranteed so I will make sure you are happy with the job or will not accept your money for it.
